Funda Özgünaydin
Abhängig von sozialen Strukturen, Zufällen, Backgrounds, Ansprüchen und Lebensentwürfen, fließt in das hybride Selbst permanent neues Material ein – wie eine konzentrierte Infusionslösung. Die für die Ausstellung neu produzierten Infusion stands von Funda Özgünaydins repräsentieren sowohl Hoffnung als auch Verzweiflung. Sie stellen eine eigenwillige Version postmigrantischer Ready-mades dar, in denen sie die Diversität des kulturellen Selbst anhand von Alltagsobjekten sichtbar macht. In ihren Human-Animals wiederum – Collagen aus Filmszenen und Softpornos der 20er Jahre – kombiniert sie Mensch mit Tier und treibt ihr oft auch ironisches Spiel mit identitären Zuschreibungen auf die Spitze: »Wir passen uns zu einem gewissen Grad unserer Umgebung an. Neben unserem Instikt, unserer Intuition, imitieren wir, nehmen Dinge unterbewußt auf und adaptieren bestimmte Aspekte von Lebensweisen, Stilen und Sprechweisen, Benehmen, Arrangements und Aktionen. Die Vermischung all dieser Aspekte zu einer Bildsprache führt zur Schaffung von etwas Neuem, Fremdartigen und Utopischen.« (Funda Özgünaydin)
Infusionstands. In its dependency on social structures, coincidences, backgrounds, demands and ways of life, the hybrid self is permanently instilled with new material – like a concentrated infusion. The Infusion stands produced for the exhibition by Funda Özgünaydin represent both hope and despair. They are a stubborn version of post-migrant ready mades, in which she makes apparent the diversity of the cultural self through everyday objects. In contrast to this, her Human-Animals – collages of movie snippets and 1920s softcore porn – combine humans and animals while taking her often ironic attitude toward ascriptions of identity to extremes: »We adjust somewhat to our environment. Beside of our sense of instinct, intuition, in addition to imitate, even subconsciously picking up and adapt certain aspects of lifestyle, looks and language, manners, arrangements and activities. Mixing these into visual language will create something new, outlandish and utopian.« (Funda Özgünaydin)
Funda Özgünaydin „I am interested in observing and reasearching into the local communities, categories of people in hierachies, social ranking, social stratification or simply social classes in society. How do they interact with each other ? What effects does it have on different levels ? What does it evoke ? Or what is the outcome with interpersonal / inter human relations with each other? How can I reflect / project the constant movement of change and development within this formation? Creating an overall composition of opposites and contrasts, against priciples. Breaking through boundries, sometimes Ironically, in order to create something new. I like gathering parallels also and bring art into life, and life into art. How does the past effects the present ? How does the present effects the future ?“
