Im Rahmen des Ausstellungsprogramms POLY 2023–24 in der Galerie Wedding in Zusammenarbeit mit KINDL – Zentrum für zeitgenössische Kunst
Künstlerische Leitung: Solvej Helweg Ovesen
In der Ausstellung stellt Thomias Radin in der Galerie Wedding sein neu geschaffenes Wandgemälde „Der Mythos von Karukera und Cibuqueira” vor. Der Titel lehnt an die Eigennamen der beiden Hauptinseln von Guadeloupe an. Mit dem Wandgemälde knüpft Radin eine Geschichte rund um die Bedingung des Menschseins, die Kraft der Bewegung und die fortwährende Bedeutung von Mythen für unser Weltbild und wird das Werk im Rahmen einer Eröffnungszeremonie mittels Klang und Bewegung aktivieren.
Zu kulinarischen Genüssen aus der Karibik und Westafrika legen die DJs Peeps und Coco Calypso auf und lassen den Abend ausklingen.

Thomias Radin premieres his newly created mural ›The Myth of Karukera and Cibuqueira‹, inspired by the two native names of the main islands of Guadeloupe. Radin weaves a story exploring the human condition, the power of movement, and the enduring relevance of myth in shaping our understanding of the world.
For the opening ceremony, Radin activates the work through sound and movement. A DJ set by Peeps and Coco Calypso invites you to dance and hang out throughout the evening while Caribbean and West African snacks will be served.
