»Rage Is a Prayer ist ein Ausdruck gelebter Erinnerung – ein improvisiertes Ritual, in dem Klang, Atem und Bewegung zu Trägern von Geschichte, Erschütterung und Heilung werden. Es ist eine persönliche und zugleich kollektive Auseinandersetzung mit dem emotionalen Erbe der Schwarzen Diaspora – mit den Spuren von Leben, die durch Gewalt entwurzelt, geraubt und über Kontinente verstreut wurden, fern der Orte, die sie einst trugen. Es geht aber auch um die leisen, alltäglichen Formen von Ausgrenzung und dem fortdauernden Versuch, Spuren auszulöschen. Dabei geht es nicht nur um die Vergangenheit – sondern darum, wie diese Vergangenheit bis heute in uns wirkt. Es geht darum, ein inneres Feuer durch kalte Städte und fremde Straßen zu tragen. Es geht darum, unserer Seele Raum zu geben – inmitten von Ankunft, Verletzung und der Suche nach Heilung.
Im Dialog mit PURE bringt der*die multidisziplinäre Künstler*in Bláthin Klänge ein, die als Impulse, Fragen oder Zeichen wirken – jede löst eine unmittelbare, gefühlte Reaktion aus. Es entsteht ein freies Zusammenspiel, ein Hören und Antworten, getragen von gegenseitigem Spüren. Wut ist hier kein Spektakel – sie ist ein Heilmittel. Sie ist das, was von Geschichten bleibt, die über Meere, durch Zeiten und Sprachen getragen wurden. Sie ist der Klang des Widerstands. Sie ist ein Gebet – gesprochen in der Sprache des Feuers.«

»Rage Is a Prayer is an act of embodied testimony, an improvised ritual where sound, breath, and movement become vessels for memory, for rupture, and for repair. It is a sacred confrontation with the emotional and psychic afterlife of the ancestral memory of the Black diaspora, echoes of lives displaced, stolen, and scattered across continents, far from the lands that once held them and with the quieter, more insidious violences of ongoing erasure. This is not only about history, it is about what history still does to us now. It is about carrying fire through cold cities and unwelcoming streets. It is about holding space for our spirits in a constant state of arrival, harm and healing.
In dialogue with PURE, multidisciplinary artist Bláthin offers sonic gestures which serve as prompts, provocations, or cues–each one invoking a visceral response, an improvisational call-and-response shaped by mutual attunement. Rage here is not a spectacle, it is a sacrament. It is the sacred residue of histories carried across oceans, across time zones, across languages. It is the sound of rupture and of refusal. It is prayer spoken in the mother tongue of fire.«
