Ausschreibung – Residenzprogramm für Künstler*innen und Kurator*innen aus Berlin und Lagos 2019
Das Goethe-Institut Nigeria schreibt in Kooperation mit der Arthouse Foundation Lagos und den Berliner Kunstinstitutionen Galerie Wedding, ZK/U – Zentrum für Kunst und Urbanistik und SAVVY Contemporary zwei Residenzen für Künstler*innen/Kurator*innen aus Berlin in Lagos aus.
Die Ausschreibung richtet sich an Künstler*innen und Kurator*innen mit Wohnsitz in Berlin. Durch die Zusammenarbeit von Goethe-Institut Nigeria und Arthouse Foundation, bietet diese Residenz neben der Möglichkeit des Arbeitsaufenthaltes in Lagos/Nigeria, Einblick in die Arbeit zweier wichtiger Kulturinstitutionen in Lagos, mit Beratungs – und Kontaktmöglichkeiten, sowie einer abschließenden Präsentation. Zusätzlich gibt es in diesem Jahr die Möglichkeit, Einblick in die Arbeit der zweiten Lagos Biennal (26.10. – 30.11. 2019) zu erhalten. Etwa zeitgleich findet in Berlin eine Residenz für eine/n Künstler*in/Kurator*in aus Lagos statt. Im Vorfeld der Residenz in Lagos wird es ein Treffen mit diesem/r Resident*in in Berlin geben. Obligatorisch ist neben den üblichen Bewerbungsunterlagen und dem Berliner Wohnsitz die Beschreibung eines Projektvorhabens in einem frei wählbaren Medium der bildenden Kunst und/oder Performance zum Thema der New Commons.
Zum Thema der New Commons:
Angelehnt an das Thema der zweiten Lagos Biennale für zeitgenössische Kunst 2019 * wird nach Projektentwürfen gesucht, die das Verhältnis zwischen Architektur, Natur und der digitalen Sphäre beschreiben und die die Errichtung neuer Commons im öffentlichen Raum zum Ziel haben. Die Projektvorschläge sollen sich mit den ökonomischen, ökologischen, ethnografischen und soziologischen Vorbedingungen von historisch gewachsenen Orten in Lagos auseinandersetzen.
Daten: erste Residenz: 9.9. – 20.10. 2019, zweite Residenz: 21.10. – 30.11. 2019
Folgende Kosten werden durch das Austauschprogramm übernommen: Unterkunft und Atelier in der Arthouse Foundation Lagos, Flugkosten Berlin-Lagos (Economy class), Visagebühr, Verpflegungspauschale
Hinweis: Bewerbungen sind nur für Einzelpersonen mit Berliner Wohnsitz möglich; die Unterkunft in Lagos ist für mitreisende Kinder nicht geeignet.

Call for Applications – Residency program for artists and curators from Berlin and Lagos 2019
The Goethe-Institut Nigeria, in cooperation with the Arthouse Foundation Lagos and the Berlin Art Institutions Galerie Wedding, ZK/U – Center for Art and Urbanistics and SAVVY Contemporary, is offering two residencies for artists / curators from Berlin in Lagos.
The call is aimed at artists and curators living and working in Berlin. Through the cooperation of Goethe-Institut Nigeria and Arthouse Foundation, this residence offers not only the possibility of working in Lagos / Nigeria, but also insight into the work of two important cultural institutions in Lagos, a variety of consultation and contact opportunities as well as the possibility of a final presentation at the Arthouse Foundation Lagos. In addition, there will be the opportunity to get an insight into the work of the second Lagos Biennal, which is taking place from oct. 26th – nov. 30th 2019. Around the same time, a residence program for an artist / curator from Lagos takes place in Berlin. In the run-up to the residence in Lagos, there will be a meeting with this resident in Berlin. In addition to the usual application documents and the residence in Berlin, the description of a project project in a freely selectable medium of fine art and / or performance on the topic of the New Commons is obligatory.
On the topic of the New Commons:
Inspired by the theme of the second Lagos Biennale for Contemporary Art 2019, project designs are sought that describe the relationship between architecture, nature and the digital sphere and that aim to establish new commons in public spaces.
The project proposals should deal with the economic, ecological, ethnographic and sociological preconditions of historically evolved places in Lagos.

The following costs are covered by the exchange program: accommodation and studio in the Arthouse Foundation Lagos, flight costs Berlin-Lagos (economy class), visa fee, per diems
